Learn from peers and experts in 2013

This year, I’m starting a monthly interview series where you’ll hear from sound techs, technical directors, worship leaders, and people working in the commercial pro audio arena. So much about live audio production can be gained from the experience of other techs working behind the mixer. But you can also learn a lot from people who are at the front of the sanctuary, who rely on you for help accomplishing their goals from leading worship to giving the sermon.
Starting off this series, I’ve listed of all of the interviews that I’ve done in the past. Spend some time reading through these, dating back to 2008, and dig up the gold nuggets that will help you be better at your job.
Interview: Jeremy Blasongame | Church Audio and Sound
Interview: Karl Verkade | Guitar for Worship
Interview: Brian Davis | Worship Tech Online
Interview: Mike Sessler | Church Tech Arts
Interview: Jason Cole | Production Nuts
Interview: Rich Kirkpatrick | Worship leader
Interview: Angela Mullins | Tech Arts Director
Interview: Beau Brown | The Voice of Experience
Interview: Stephen Proctor | Worship VJ
If there is anyone you’d like me to interview, add a comment below and I’ll see what I can do. I’ve got most of my interviews planned (9 or 10) but I have left space for a couple extras in 2013.

I'm Chris Huff and I've been working behind a mixer for over twenty years. Since 2008, I've been helping other sound techs learn all about the art of church audio through behindthemixer.com.

Hi Chris,
Love every thing about “Behind the Mixer”
If you are sitll looking for some interview ideas, here are a few:
Doug Gould (worshipMD)
John MIlls (TechTraining101)
Robert Schovil (Avid)
Maybe some worship leaders to get their view point?
Blessings
Jim, thanks for the suggestions. I got an email from Doug just last week. John’s web site domains have all expired so I’ll have to check a few other methods of contact. I think I have him on linkedin.
Tech Director at Trinity is Steve Siebers. He has all things “tech” that aren’t IT. Steve has served a numbers of churches and comes from production live TV. I love working here with Steve because he is wrestling with keeping the old alive, integrating and evolving the new & improved, and trying to sustain sanity in a strong rip current as the church elders ponder establishing a “new” ministry in an area that hasn’t been served in years. If this proves fruitful, it might mean establishing a stand alone (alongside??) facility closer to the MSU campus.
[note from chris: contact info removed but noted.]
Bryan, thanks for the info. I’ll send Steve an email.
