Monster Cables
Why would anyone spend a whole lot more for a microphone cable just because it's called a "Monster Cable?" Primarily, because of the replacement guarantee. Monster cables are replaced for free each time they break.
However, before you jump on the Monster bandwagon, consider this...
Most of your problems are going to happen near the plug ends so a simple re-soldering will fix the problem with the only cost being time.
Only cables that are moved when used will have problems. If you have cables that go from one component to another but are never moved, the cables are not enduring wear and tear.
Finally, the one that surprise me and has thus discouraged me from buying Monster XLR cables in the future...the huge size of the plugs. Typical XLR cable plugs are just a bit bigger than the XLR connector housing. In the case of Monster cables, these are noticeable larger. This causes a problem with fixed-sized microphone holders where the microphone is slipped into the holder instead of clipped it. Monster cables will NOT work with this standard style microphone holders.
