Jeremy Blasongame runs a great audio web site called Church Audio and Sound.  He goes past just the technical issues and deals with topics like  "The Sound Of (Great) Music" and "Slightly Absurd Sound Equations."  He runs sounds at a large church which uses three mixing positionsFOH1 FOH2 (like a service producer) and monitor mixer.  He said "We mix live in 5.1, and to my knowledge we're the only church that does it."  read more »

I was in a heated discussion this weekend, after the service, with a worship team leader over what to do when a technical problem occurs during a worship song.  In this case, we had a problem with a singer's microphone that had shorted out.  The shorted mic became a distraction during the first song of the set.  read more »
