I spent time helping a family who were flood victims. Part of my work involved cataloging their belonging, for insurance purposes, before we threw them out. That got me thinking about all the A/V equipment at my church. If the church was flooded out, I would be the person responsible for answering the question, "How much money do you we have in Audio / Visual equipment?" Therefore, I've compiled a list for all types of equipment. With this list, you can add the brand and quantity such as "Shure E2 earbuds: 8" for your own cataloging. In some cases, don't worry about the brand such as microphone stands. For cables, you need to also note the length.
- Microphone Stands
- Passive/Direct Boxes
- XLR cables
- TRS cables
- TR cables
- Cat5 cables
- Wired Microphones
- Wireless Microphones
- Equipment stands (ex: guitar stands)
- Piano / Keyboard / drums / any instruments that stay at the church
- Spot Monitors
- Floor Monitors
- Personal Monitors (Aviom / Hearback)
- Headphones
- In-ear Monitors (Shure E2's)
- Headphone extension cables
- Spot Monitor / Personal Monitor Stands
- Music Stands
- Cable Boxes (built into the floor)
- Lighting Equipment If you use any special lighting packages
- Microphone Boxes
- Equipment Boxes
- Tools
- CD player
- DVD Player
- television
- CD Recorder
- Computer
- Tape Deck
- Console / Mixer
- Special Software Such as Media Shout, Easy Worship, or other Video Software
- Video Camera
- Amp
- EQ
- Main Speakers
- Projectors
- Projector Screens
- Misc Rack Components such as Aviom / hearback components and power conditioners.
Finally, cables and wires cost money so how many feet (meters) of cable do you have running between the sound booth and the pulpit area?
Not only will this list help in times of crisis but once compiled, you have an easy way to keep track of your a/v inventory.
