Chris and Brian detail the differences between the two models, the advantages of each, and how a church sound system can benefit from either. Powered and non-powered speakers have come a long way compared to fifteen years ago. Chris and Brian also debate which is best.

I was hoping you would cover thoughts on Active vs. Passive “Subs” in an installed church of 250- 500.
We have flown our FOH mains which are passive but we are thinking of going with Active “under stage” subs simply because of the matched amp/speaker. I have already ran a fresh circuit for all of the sound so it’s clean, dedicated and on a switch. Thoughts???
It’s really a matter of personal preference. I’ve heard some great-sounding powered subs. Just make sure you turn them on and off every week.
