Kevin, one of the worship leaders at my church, is going through a worship team study. In short, it looks at the purpose of a team, team dynamics, growth as a team, and other areas he hasn’t revealed to the team just yet. Over the last few months, Kevin has sent us several questions as it relates to our worship team. I believe these questions are meant to help him gain a good view of our worship team.
Here are the questions;
1. What is the purpose of a worship team?
2. What do you think the congregation sees when they look at us when leading worship?
a. Of these observations, which ones help our congregation worship God?
b. Of these observations, which ones distract our congregation from worshiping God?
c. Of these distractions (if any), what can we do to eliminate them?
The more I’ve thought about it, the more it seems I have to ask similar questions of an audio/video team. So here are my questions to you (and myself).
1. What is the purpose of an Audio/Video team? (You can limit this to audio if that’s your main scope)
2. What do you think the congregation sees when they see us working before and during a service?
a. Of these observations, what actions demonstrate confidence in our work?
b. Of these observations, what actions lead them to be wary of what to expect during the service?
c. What can we do to eliminate any uneasiness they might feel?
